About us

How we work

Licensing work is rarely hard at any single step. It is hard because every step has to line up. Pick the wrong standard — or get the product details wrong, the type, the category, the model, the rated power, current or voltage, against the specific criteria — or group the categories and sample counts wrongly, and a test report you have already paid for becomes unusable. If the factory documents do not match the criteria and inspection method for licensing, the assessment can end in findings. So we start every job by checking it against the criteria and requirements, before we act.

Our team works continuously and professionally with coordinators both in Thailand and abroad: fast, accurate, on time. We tell you which evidence plants usually have missing and how to get it ready before the audit date. We report progress continuously, and answer questions within one to five minutes.

Have this ready

  • Photos of the product and its label, with the text legible
  • Specification or manual showing voltage, current, rated power and intended use
  • The list of models you intend to place on the market
  • Any IEC test reports you already hold

Overseas plants

If the plant is abroad, we go there

Where an assessment is required, it happens at the real production site, not at head office. Approval of one plant does not automatically extend to another plant in the same group.

Our team works regularly with manufacturers outside Thailand: we send the plant the required document list before the audit date, arrange travel for the audit, and follow corrective actions through until the assessment report is issued.

What plants ask most

  • Does our plant have to be audited?
  • Who audits, and against what criteria?
  • Does auditing one plant cover the whole group?
  • Who is the applicant on the Thai side?
FAQ

What clients ask before starting

It depends on three things: how complete the documents are, the laboratory testing queue or schedule, and the factory audit scheduling. We set out the time for each stage when we quote, and report progress as we go.

Two parts: the cost of filing the product for testing, and the cost of the factory assessment. Our quotation sets out the detail clearly.

Send us your product details so we can price the work specifically for you.

Usually yes, if they meet TISI's conditions: the issuing laboratory, consistency with the models and materials applied for, and the age of the report. Send them to us to check first, because this is where the most time and money can be saved.

Manufacturers in Thailand

  • Businesses or factories making products that fall under Compulsory Standards. A licence must always be obtained before manufacturing and placing the product on the market.
  • Manufacturers who want a General Standards or voluntary TIS licence to raise product quality or to bid for contracts. For General Standards, the factory must be located in Thailand.

Importers bringing goods into the Kingdom

  • Importers of goods under Compulsory Standards for sale in Thailand must obtain an import licence from TISI before the goods clear customs.
  • Importers who need a special one-off import permit, or who are importing samples for testing.
